DAY 1
Day 1 of our Blue Ridge Excursion and it started out
perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a prettier day to begin our quest.
It all began at Ken and Yolanda’s house with lots of
laughing and the declaration of our new club, the Pony Club. (Mustang Lovers and
friends) We have to include our designated “Chuck Wagon” engineers, Dixon and
Colleen. They weren't able to join us on this trip, but we won’t let them get
off so easily on the next.
Our jaunt to Birmingham was easy with just a couple of stops
to mark our route. Once we arrived at our hotel we all unpacked our cars and
headed to our rooms. Reuben & Dianne and Ken & Yo put their luggage
together on one cart. Miles and I filled a cart with our stuff. If anyone were
to rob our house they would find it empty, we take everything with us.
After freshening up we moseyed down to The Tavern at the
Summit for dinner around 9 p.m., where we were joined by Rae and Payne.
Naturally, various members of the Pony Club had to point out
that the person sitting next to Miles looked a little like she might be having
spasms while he drove. However, I assured them that it was a fun form of
dancing to the music in place.
We are all looking forward to starting all over
again tomorrow, perhaps others may join me in a dance.
Wow! Dolly Parton is taller than Miles!!! Not to mention a hell of a lot prettier.
